Set in the summer of 1852 in the village of Kengis, Northern Sweden, the series follows the young Sami boy-Jussi and his mentor, the newly appointed revivalist Pastor, as they investigate multiple-killings of young girls。出生于一个普通家庭的绫子（山田五十铃 饰）现供职于某制药公司，她喜欢同事西村，然而对方却是一个极不爽利难有担当的男人。糟糕的是绫子的父亲也好不到哪去，他挪用公款事发，面临牢狱之灾。为了搭救父亲，绫子只得点头同意给公司的老板当情人，以换取赔偿公款的金钱。在此期间，她还要想方设法供正在上大学的哥哥完成学业。本就疲于奔命，最终也落得和老板分道扬镳。在金钱面前，绫子可谓不遗余力，想尽了各种办法。只是如此这般牺牲自我的付出，并未换来父亲、哥哥、西村的尊重，在他们眼里，领子究竟是怎样一个存在呢？。Series 3 (2002) The third and final series focused on a different character each week but with the overlaps creating a more complex layering of the plot, more akin to a one-off episode of a situation comedy (albeit with intertwined plots) than a traditional sketch show.
