该剧以清末民初封建王朝的没落与社会转型为背景，讲述民间魔术艺人用朴素而本能的爱国情怀，传承、保护国粹的故事。有着数千年历史的中国戏法，到清末形成了三大派系：北方的“沈家堂彩”、“莫氏手彩”和南方的“鬼道戏法”。然而随着列强文化渗透的加剧，日本魔术师对我流传千年的戏法秘籍《神仙戏术》虎视眈眈。他们以传艺为名潜入天津，制造血案挑起我戏法派系争斗，收买地方官吏控制我民间艺人，企图将我国宝据为己有。同时，袁世凯之子袁克定通过打压、引诱、陷害等手段，迫使艺人为其政治阴谋服务。这种双重压迫，使得民间艺人的生存空间异常狭小艰难。以“沈家堂彩”掌门人沈万奎为首的一批民间艺人，不畏艰险，誓死保护国粹，传承中华文明，由此演绎出一段惊心动魄的悲壮历史。全剧由“复仇”与“保护国粹”两条主线贯穿，而主人公来宝的人生轨迹则由前半部的以报杀父之仇、让“莫氏手彩”重振江湖为主，转变为后半部的以对抗日本魔术师武藤章、助推反袁斗争为主。。本片由阿达影业（天津）有限公司出品，北京灰太狼影业传媒有限公司联合出品，阿达影业（天津）有限公司发行。彝族青年导演阿达色呷执导，阿达色约编剧，青年演员徐雅熙、路曼卿联合出演；影片拍摄地为河北战国影视城和燕都古城。。Reform schools are a way of protecting society by ridding it of lawless juvenile delinquents. But who's protecting the juvenile delinquents from corrupt reform schools? Rica (Rika Aoki) could be considered a bit of an expert on reform schools, having spent most of her early life in and out of them. When Rica is dragged back once again, she gets a severe beating and is finally sent off to a mental hospital with the intention of selling her and her pals into a slave trade. A trader takes Rica's friend Jun to a mountain cottage where she's pegged for the lead in his clandestine porno film operation.
