Average Texas teen, Billie Jean Davy, is caught up in an odd fight for justice. She is usually followed and harrased around by local boys, who, one day, decide to trash her brother's scooter for fun. The boys' father refuses to pay them back the price of the scooter. The fight for "fair is fair" takes the teens around the state and produces an unlikely hero.。故事背景在现代，话说于每一个世代都会出现一个年青的女孩子，在人世间寻找及对付一些妖魔鬼怪，例如有吸血鬼、坏女巫等等邪恶的势力，而这个年青的女孩子则被称为Slayer，亦即是本剧中的女主角——Buffy。故事的开始是因 Buffy在L.A.的学校中捉拿吸血鬼的时候把整个体育馆弄倒了，故被学校踼了出来，之后她的母亲Joyce与她搬到加州名叫Sunnydale的一个地方生活，但原来这一切也是命运的安排。。
