《大盘鸡》这部电影讲述的是沙湾县大盘鸡店店主老万的故事，影片以“大盘鸡秘方”为主线，故事背景以沙湾县一个开大盘鸡店的店主老万为人物线索，通过“大盘鸡”这道菜为媒介，以本不存在的大盘鸡秘方为主线，讲述做了30年大盘鸡的老万一家人的生活和感情纠葛。。本片分为四个部分，展开了对印度文化、建筑及社会状况之旅。当时的印度社区状况给导演罗西利尼留下了深刻的印象。。Inspired by Istanbul-born Armenian intellectual Eremya Celebi Komurciyan's travel diaries from the 17th century, Invisible to the Eye traces this particular itinerary in today’s Istanbul.
