Regularly stigmatised as “dragon-women”, they reveal the survival mechanisms they use and the personal battles they fight in this ultra-patriarchal professional field where they represent a tiny minority.。该剧讲述了一位普通绣花女不寻常的人生。古镇绣女阿慧与邻村木匠阿平青梅竹马，不料她被东家少爷赵景憧无意之间相中。赵景憧不满封建家庭的束缚，同家里闹翻后自立门户。不久，他在处处碰壁的境遇中因车祸丧生。阿慧在当地的陋俗中成了所谓的“回缸女”，自此铸成了一生的悲剧。阿平坚持要娶阿慧，被族长百般阻挠，阿慧只得改嫁他人……多年以后，白发苍苍的阿平带着阿慧的后代，就像当年的阿慧一样，在金灿灿的油菜花中放起了风筝，跟孩子们一起缅怀那位可悲而又可怜的奶奶的故事。。
