20世纪60年代末，左翼暴动席卷香港，局势动荡。 从乡下来到大都市小玉（张曼玉 饰）是一个苦不见出头的小演员，为了金钱为了上位，真可谓不惜一切代价。在某导演的帮助下，小玉搬入一栋新公寓，偶然机会认识了住在天台的阿恭（钟镇涛 饰）。穷困潦倒的阿恭白天是一名白牌出租车司机，晚上则成为阔太太的性伴侣。两个畸零人从最初的轻视和憎恨，最终走到了一起。他们努力赚钱，经营生活，但动乱的局势仍将他们微小的幸福一次次击碎…… 本片荣获1990年香港金像奖最佳女主角（张曼玉）、最佳艺术指导和最佳剧本三项大奖。。Birdcatcher Esmar and his wife Johanna face eviction from their farm in Gásadalur unless they have a son. Desperation sets in when Johanna gives birth to their third daughter. Pushed to the brink, Johanna is impregnated by another man, a French Captain, and gives birth to a son, known as ‘the birdcatcher’s son’. Everything seems perfect until the French Captain returns.。Unhappily married rich lady Emanuelle is fed up with her sleazy, disgusting and overbearing lout husband Michael and other men insensitively treating her like a piece of meat. So Emanuelle dumps Michael and gets involved in a torrid lesbian affair with enticing novelist Leona.。
